A while ago, we returned to Spencer, North Carolina, where the 611 J-Type steam engine is being restored for the Virginia Museum of Transportation. We filmed elements for several features which are airing in anticipation of the engine's return, under her own power for the first time since the 1980s, on May 30.
When we were there in February, she was still pretty much in pieces, but work was much father along than it looks.
